I learned mIRC, Skype, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter social network services. mIRC has a number of distinguishing features. One is its scripting language which is further developed with each version. The scripting language can be used to make minor changes to the program like custom commands , but can also be used to completely alter the behavior and appearance of mIRC. Another claimed feature is mIRC’s file sharing abilities, via the DCC protocol, featuring a built in file server. mIRC’s abilities and behaviors can be altered and extended using the embedded mIRC scripting language. Now Skype is part of Microsoft. It brings innovative technology to friends, family and colleagues everywhere. You can enable more people to connect in more ways that transform and enhance their lives. With Skype, you can share a story, celebrate a birthday, learn a language, hold a meeting, work with colleagues – just about anything you need to do together every day. You can use Skype on whatever works best for you – on your phone or computer or a TV with Skype on it. It is free to start using Skype – to speak, see and instant message other people on Skype for example. You can even try out group video, with the latest version of Skype. If you pay a little, you can do more things, in more ways, with more people – like call phones, access WiFi or send texts. You can pay as you go or buy a subscription, whatever works for you. And in the world of business, this means you can bring your entire ecosystem of workers, partners and customers together to get things done. Yahoo operates a portal that provides the latest news, entertainment, and sports information. The portal also gives users access to other Yahoo! services like Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Maps, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Groups and Yahoo! Messenger. Yahoo provides Internet communication services such as Yahoo! Messenger and Yahoo! Mail. It mobile offers services for email, instant messaging, and mobile blogging, as well as information services, searches and alerts. Services for the camera phone include entertainment and ring tones and also it offers shopping services such as Yahoo Shopping. Yahoo offers a multi-lingual interface. The site is available in over 20 languages. Facebook is an online social networking service and users must register before using the site, after which they may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Additionally, users may join common-interest user groups, organized by workplace, school or college, or other characteristics, and categorize their friends into lists such as “People From Work” or “Close Friends”. Users can create profiles with photos, lists of personal interests, contact information, and other personal information. Users can communicate with friends and other users through private or public messages and a chat feature. They can also create and join interest groups and “like pages”, some of which are maintained by organizations as a means of advertising. Since April 2011, Facebook users have had the ability to make live voice calls via Facebook Chat, allowing users to chat with others from all over the world. Facebook enables users to choose their own privacy settings and choose who can see specific parts of their profile. The website is free to users, and generates revenue from advertising, such as banner ads. Facebook requires a user’s name and profile picture to be accessible by everyone. Users can control who sees other information they have shared, as well as who can find them in searches, through their privacy settings. Twitter is an online social networking service and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based messages of up to 140 characters, known as “tweets”. Unregistered users can read tweets, while registered users can post tweets through the website interface, SMS, or a range of apps for mobile devices.Twitter messages are public but users can also send private messages. Users can group posts together by topic or type by use of hashtags – words or phrases prefixed with a “#” sign. Similarly, the “@” sign followed by a username is used for mentioning or replying to other users. To repost a message from another Twitter user, and share it with one’s own followers, the retweet function is symbolized by “RT” in the message. If you follow 20 people, you’ll see a mix of tweets scrolling down the page: breakfast-cereal updates, interesting new links, music recommendations, even musings on the future of education. I can use these services in my classroom because they are very popular and almost everyone uses one service among them. They can be very useful for them because they are familiar with them. For example, I make a group and I give them homework on this service. The other students’ can add comments, like their sharings, send message each other or chat, share something about the lesson. It may be videos, essays etc.
